The Virginia Muscle Car

(Muscle Cars of the Past, Present, and Future)

This site reflects many personal experiences and opinions on Muscle Cars and related issues.

Years ago, I sent an email to an ole Annandale High friend of mine, Bill, describing an incident that happened after we graduated from Annandale High, (geeze, we graduated in 1967). The incident involved when we were working on a 55 Nomad. We enjoyed recalling memories of our cars, friends, and families. Bill's Uncle Sherman is in the Hotrod Hall of Fame and helped us to understand how to modify cars and to understand more about drag racing and the new technologies developing at the time. On Sherman's WEBpage there is a great link to a machinest, Ken Ellison, who details Sherman's contributions to drag racing.

Bill and I continued to exchange emails recollecting the ole Annandale days; however, the recollections were not only about the time during high school but were more about what happened after Annandale High. Then, we developed WEBpages from these emails for others to enjoy too. In addition, Andy (our other good Annandale bud and life long friend), and others have since expanded this WEBsite's content beyond these original emails with pictures, vehicle descriptions, and recollections. Over the years, Andy really never stopped collecting/rebuilding muscle and classic cars. I started collecting/rebuilding muscle/classic cars again in 1990 when Andy help me pick out a 4-speed 76 Stingray. Today Andy has some of the most desirable muscle car classics ... as does Bill now. And many of our good friends have also started to "re-collect" and add descriptions of their cars and stories on this WEBsite. Immediately below, are several example Muscle Car/Classic Car entries and further below are links to additional entries and more WEBsite details.

He graduated from Annandale four years before I did and is older ... :). He was also Annandale's first State Wrestling Champion, later a Vietnam Veteran, and still later an earth scientist heading up the U.S. Geological Survey's Polar Program. I had helped Jerry with Research Program issues when I worked in Mapping/Geography HQ Office and evidentually ended up working for him and our boss, the Chief of Eastern Geographic Science Center. I retired in 2008, and yes there is the good life after you retire.
